A Simple Maths Lesson

This quick maths lesson can be done before you do one of the maths games listed in the number recognition, counting, shapes or more and less sections.

Stage One

Start by watching a number song using numbers 1 – 20 such as this one:

Count up to 10 together using different forms of movement: big steps, jumping, hopping or reaching up high.

Using flashcards show your child numbers 1-5 in order and then mixed up and see if they recognise them.

Ask your child to do 3 claps – when they reach 3 they stop. Can they now do 4 jumps? Can they do 1 spin? etc.
