The Early Years Curriculum is based around learning through play. Their ethos is that whatever you learn inside, you can take outside. For example reading – you can create a cosy book corner outside with mats and cushions. You could even create a reading den! The outdoor environment encourages problem solving, creativity and resourcefulness. It also gives children the opportunity to learn to assess risk and develop the skills needed to manage new situations.
